For regular stage microphones and smaller condensers, yes. With a large-diaphragm studio mic or a heavy shock mount, keep the boom short and point one leg towards the microphone; if in doubt, ask us.

The K&M 210/9 is the standard tall boom microphone stand with a folding tripod base and a telescopic boom. It is the stage workhorse: a vocal mic for a standing singer, a speaker beside a lectern, a mic over a guitar amp, or any instrument where the mic must reach well forward. Most of our handheld mics ship with it.

Choose the 210/9 for flexible mic placement: the boom lets you keep the tripod legs clear of an instrument or music stand. If stage space is tight and the mic sits straight in front of the singer, the round-base K&M 252 or 260 is more compact. For low sources like a kick drum or guitar cabinet, take the K&M 259/1.

What to consider when renting

The stand comes without a mic clip; the clip normally comes with the microphone. If you bring your own microphone, check the thread fits. Tighten the boom lock properly, a heavy microphone at the end of a long boom tends to droop. On stage, open the legs fully and run the XLR cable down along the stand so nobody trips on it. Anyone can set it up.
