Conference kit for up to 300 people
The conference kit for up to 300 people is the sound system for a full-day conference, an annual general meeting or a large training event in a hotel conference hall or a cultural centre auditorium. Two SRX812P speakers cover three hundred seated listeners, the Yamaha DM3 digital mixer remembers each presenter's settings and provides a clean Dante feed for recording or streaming, and four wireless channels cover two presenters on headsets and two handhelds in the audience. Two laptops, main and backup, are connected at the same time, so a presentation changeover does not interrupt the audio.
On the conference day an operator sits at the mixer, opens the presenters' channels, keeps the handhelds ready for the question round and switches presentation audio from one computer to the other. Headsets are swapped between presenters during breaks, with the bodypacks in a pocket or on a belt. The kit is intended for one hall; if participants are also in a side room, a speaker is added there separately. For this kit we strongly recommend our technician at least for setup and sound check, because configuring the digital mixer and four wireless channels takes a long time without experience.

Why these items
- 1.Two JBL SRX812P powered speakers carry speech clearly to the back rows of a 300-person hall, where smaller speakers would stay quiet or have to be pushed to the point of feedback.
- 2.Two speaker stands raise the speakers above the heads of the seated audience, so the front rows are not too loud and the back rows too quiet.
- 3.The Yamaha DM3 is a compact digital mixer that stores each presenter's settings as a scene, has built-in processing on every channel to keep feedback in check and sends a Dante feed to a recorder or a stream.
- 4.The Shure SLXD4QDAN four-channel receiver takes all four wireless mics in one unit and sends them to the mixer over Dante, without four separate cables.
- 5.Two Shure SLXD2/B58 wireless handhelds are for the room: in the question round assistants carry them to the person asking, and the moderator keeps one in hand.
- 6.Two Shure SLXD1 bodypack transmitters give two presenters a wireless channel for a headset at the same time, so the next presenter is ready before the previous one finishes.
- 7.Two Shure DH5T headset mics are small, moisture-resistant and stay in place through a long talk on a warm stage.
- 8.The Radial USB-PRO connects the presentation computer over USB, so video audio does not depend on the headphone socket and noise from the projector or charger is gone.
- 9.The Palmer PLI-04 passive stereo DI box keeps the backup laptop or the moderator's computer ready on a second channel, so a change of computer does not interrupt the day.
Setup and preparation
The speakers go on stands either side of the stage, in front of the presenters. Put the mixer, receiver and DI boxes on a table at the back or side of the hall, in sight of the stage and screen; Dante cables run between receiver and mixer, XLR cables to the speakers. Fit the headsets before the doors open and walk with them in front of the stage to find the level that does not feed back. Save each presenter's settings as a scene and test both computers.
The organiser provides sockets by the stage and the operator's table, a table for the mixer and computers, the list of presenters, and people who carry the handhelds to the questioners. If the day is recorded or streamed, tell us when ordering to what and we will prepare the Dante output. Cable runs between stage and operator table depend on the length of the hall. Our technician sets up the kit, does the sound check and stays at the mixer for the day if wanted; agreed when you order.

When to choose another kit
If the hall holds up to 150 people and no recording is needed, the simpler and cheaper Presentation and seminar kit for up to 150 people with an analogue mixer fits. If a panel has more than four speakers at once, add the Four wireless handheld microphone kit or the Theatre and musical headset mic kit (4 performers), both of which work on the same Dante network. If the hall is very long or on several levels, ask us for additional speakers for the back.
