The Yamaha QL1 is a compact 48-input digital mixing console with a Dante network. It is our most frequently rented desk for medium-sized concerts, corporate events, conferences and theatre productions with ten to forty inputs, where the console has to fit into a tight FOH position. The desk has 16 inputs and 8 outputs on board; more come from a RIO rack.

The usual kit is a QL1 with a RIO1608-D2 or RIO3224-D2 stage rack and one network cable between stage and desk. For a small band the DM3 is enough; for a festival main stage the DM7 fits. The Soundcraft Ui24R is cheaper but has no physical faders; choose the QL1 when a technician mixes by hand and has to react fast.

What to consider when renting

You need mains power, a Dante network cable to the stage rack and a table at FOH or beside the stage. Think through how many inputs and outputs the stage needs and pick the RIO rack accordingly. The session file can be prepared on a computer. The desk suits an experienced operator; our technician is available if needed.
