The Yamaha RIO3224-D2 is a Dante stage rack with 32 analogue inputs, 16 analogue outputs and 8 AES/EBU outputs. It sits on stage and carries all the microphones, DI boxes and monitor lines to the console over one network cable. We rent it with the DM7 or QL1 for concerts, festivals and large conferences with many inputs.

Choose the RIO3224-D2 when the stage has more than sixteen inputs or you need AES outputs to amplifiers, for example a Crown I-Tech rack. For a smaller stage the RIO1608-D2 is enough. The rack does not work without a Dante console: it is not a standalone mixer but an extension of the desk on stage.

What to consider when renting

The rack needs mains power on stage and a Cat5e or better network cable to the desk; over a long distance bring a second cable as a spare. All stage microphones come into the rack on XLR, the outputs go to monitors or amplifiers. Dante routing and preamp settings are done by a technician before the soundcheck.
