Shure PA421B
ANTENNAAntenna Combiner for PSM® Wireless Systems
Prices are per 24 hours of rental. Longer rentals, delivery and setup are quoted on request.
The PA421B is Shure's active antenna combiner for PSM systems: it takes the antenna outputs of up to four in-ear transmitters and merges them into one antenna. Without it every P9T radiates from its own antenna, they interfere and the packs drop out. You need it as soon as two or more PSM900 transmitters share a rack.
One antenna goes on the combiner's output, such as a UA860 on a small stage or the HA-8091 helical on a wide one. The PA421B also distributes power to the transmitters, keeping the rack tidy. For Axient Digital PSM transmitters (ADTQ) we use the passive AD221 splitter instead; the PA421B is meant for analogue PSM transmitters such as the P9T.
What to consider when renting
The combiner sits in the rack beside the transmitters; their antenna outputs connect to its inputs with short coaxial jumpers and one cable runs from the output to the antenna. All transmitters must be in the same frequency band as the combiner. Power comes from the mains. We normally build the PSM rack with the combiner and coordinate frequencies before handover, so that on site only the antenna needs to go up.
Best for
- Two to four PSM900 transmitters in one rack
- Bands where everyone wants their own mix
- Theatres and musicals
- Festival monitor world
