The P9HW is Shure's wired bodypack monitor: the same shape and handling as the PSM900 radio pack, but the mix arrives by cable from the console or a headphone amplifier and there is no radio. We rent it to musicians who stay put on stage, such as the drummer, keyboard player, bassist next to the amp or the conductor, and to engineers who want to check what the band hears in their earphones. All it needs is a long enough cable and earphones.

A wired pack needs no frequency, batteries last a long time and there is no radio interference, so in a crowded spectrum or on a tight budget it is a safe choice. If the musician has to move, take a PSM900 kit or a P9RA+ pack. For several wired packs the mixes can be distributed from a TASCAM MH-8 headphone amplifier, which gives each its own volume. Add earphones separately, for example the SE215CL.

What to consider when renting

The pack takes its signal from a console aux output or a headphone amp over a cable that must reach the musician's position; tell us how far the desk is and we will include a suitable cable. The pack needs a battery and earphones. Secure the cable to the belt or a stand for strain relief so nobody trips over it. Start quiet and bring the level up gradually.
