Shure HA-8091
ANTENNADomed Helical Antenna
Prices are per 24 hours of rental. Longer rentals, delivery and setup are quoted on request.
The HA-8091 is Shure's domed helical antenna, which we use mainly on the transmit side of in-ear monitoring: it radiates the signal of a PSM900 or Axient Digital PSM transmitter with circular polarisation, so the pack receives it reliably however the musician turns their body and antenna. It goes up on a stand and is aimed at the stage.
Usually the HA-8091 is connected to the output of a PA421B combiner or an AD221 splitter, so that several transmitters radiate from one antenna. For a small stage and a single transmitter the supplied whip or a UA860 is enough; the helical pays off on a wide stage, outdoors, or when the packs are dropping out.
What to consider when renting
Mount the antenna on a stand at the front or side of the stage, above head height, and point it at the centre of the stage. The cable from the transmitter or combiner must be low-loss coaxial; tell us the distance and we will include the right one. Do not put it right next to the receiver antennas, the strong PSM transmit signal can disturb microphone reception. If in doubt, our technician will place it.
Best for
- Large and wide stages
- Outdoor festivals
- Systems with several PSM transmitters
- Theatres with the rack far from the stage
