The JBL EON710 is a light 10-inch active speaker for small events. We rent it for meetings, presentations, birthdays, yoga classes and house parties that need clear speech and background music for a few dozen to a hundred people. One person can carry it, and it pairs with a phone over Bluetooth, so music needs no extra gear.

If the room is bigger or the music has to make people dance, choose the PRX812 or PRX815. If there is no mains power at all, the battery-powered EON COMPACT ONE is the alternative. A microphone and a player can go straight into the EON710 inputs; for a larger lineup add a small mixer such as the Soundcraft Signature 10. A Speaker Stand is enough to raise it.

What to consider when renting

The speaker needs a wall socket and an XLR cable for the microphone; music comes over Bluetooth or by cable. Put it on a Speaker Stand, or at least on a table, so the sound carries over heads. Connecting is simple, but set the volume before guests arrive and keep the speaker out of the rain. No technician is needed to set it up.
