The Crown I-Tech 4×3500HD is a four-channel amplifier for JBL VTX systems. We rent it with the VTX A8 line array, where one amplifier drives several elements, and to power VTX M20 and M22 stage monitors. The customer is usually the sound crew of a concert, festival or larger corporate event that needs a compact amp rack for a passive system, with four independent channels coming out of one unit.

Four channels in one chassis means one rack covers, for example, four monitor mixes or both sides of an A8 hang. If you only need to drive subwoofers, the two-channel Crown I-Tech 12000HD is enough. The built-in DSP holds the JBL loudspeaker presets, so a separate processor is normally not needed, but tuning the system is still a job for a technician.

What to consider when renting

Plan enough mains capacity for the amplifier and speaker cables for every channel, including the inter-element cabling on an A8 hang. The input takes analogue XLR or AES from a processor or console. Channel assignment and DSP presets must be agreed before the event, because a wrong preset can damage loudspeakers. We recommend booking this amplifier together with our technician.
