Do I need the base plate if the A6 is flown?

No, a flown hang needs an array frame, not a base plate. The plate is only for stacking on the floor or stage.

How many A6 elements fit on one plate?

Several; the exact number depends on the angles and how high the stack goes. Send us your plan and we will say how many plates to order.

The VTX A6 BP is the base plate on which JBL VTX A6 line array elements are stacked on the floor or on stage when flying is not possible. It gives a stable footing and lets you set the splay angles just as in a flown hang. We rent it only with A6 elements; alone it has no use.

Choose the base plate when the ceiling or truss cannot take the load, or when the stage is low and the stack would sit at audience height. If the hang has to go higher, ask us about placing it on top of subwoofers. The A8 elements have their own, larger plate, the A8 BP.

What to consider when renting

The plate goes on a flat, solid surface, at the stage edge or on the floor, and the elements lock onto it with the VTX hardware. Make sure the stack is out of the audience's reach and nobody can push it over by accident. Set the angles before adding the last elements. Installation should be done by someone who knows the VTX system.
