The JBL EON COMPACT ONE is a battery-powered portable PA with a built-in mixer, Bluetooth and up to 12 hours of running time on one charge. We rent it for outdoor training sessions, guided tours, street events, beach parties and wedding ceremonies in a park, where there is no mains power or an extension lead would be a hazard. A microphone, a guitar and a phone plug straight into the speaker.

It does not replace a real PA: if there are more than a few dozen listeners or the music has to be at dance volume, take an EON710 or PRX815 and a generator. Where mains power exists, the EON710 is the louder choice in the same size class. A wireless microphone works with it, most conveniently the battery-powered RØDE Wireless GO II, which needs no wall socket.

What to consider when renting

Charge the battery fully before the event and remember that loud music shortens the running time. The microphone goes straight into the speaker input; music comes over Bluetooth. The speaker can go on a Speaker Stand so the sound carries further. A mains lead is included, so indoors it can charge while in use. Setup takes a few minutes.
