The Shure QLXD1 is the QLX-D series bodypack transmitter without a receiver. We rent it as an extra transmitter for an existing QLXD4 receiver: for example when two actors share a role, or when a speaker prefers a headset to a handheld and the receiver is already there from a QLXD24 kit.

It needs a QLXD4 receiver and a microphone with a TA4F connector, such as the Shure DH5T, MX153 or MX150. The complete kit is the QLXD14. The QLXD1 does not work with an SLX-D receiver; that needs the SLXD1. Power from AA batteries or a Shure rechargeable.

What to consider when renting

Check that you have a QLXD4 receiver and add a microphone. Fit the batteries, sync with the receiver by infrared and set the gain at the soundcheck. One receiver hears one transmitter at a time, so switch the other one off when you swap, otherwise they interfere.
