Does the ADX1 come with a microphone?

No, the pack has no microphone. Choose a headset or lavalier separately; we have the Shure DH5T, MX153 and MX150, among others.

Why would I need ShowLink?

When the performer's microphone is fitted and under the costume, the engineer can change the pack's settings from the desk. If the packs are within easy reach, the AD1 is enough.

The Shure ADX1 is the Axient Digital bodypack transmitter with ShowLink. It clips to the performer's belt and takes a headset or lavalier microphone with a TA4F connector. ShowLink means the sound engineer can change the pack's gain and frequency remotely through an AD610 access point, which is invaluable in theatre and television.

The ADX1 only works with an Axient Digital receiver: AD4D, AD4Q or ADX5D. The microphone comes separately, for example a Shure DH5T headset or MX150 lavalier. If you do not need remote control, the AD1 does the same job more simply. QLX-D and SLX-D bodypacks do not work with Axient Digital receivers.

What to consider when renting

Add a receiver (AD4D, AD4Q or ADX5D), a headset or lavalier microphone with a TA4F connector and an AD610 for ShowLink to the cart. The pack runs on a Shure rechargeable battery; order batteries and the SBRC charger separately or ask for charged batteries. Fit the microphone and set the gain at the soundcheck with the engineer, cable under the clothing so it does not rub.
