Do I need an AD600 if I rent two AD4D receivers?

Usually not. The AD4D scans by itself and finds frequencies for four channels. The AD600 becomes useful with a high channel count or a difficult RF environment.

Does the AD600 work with QLX-D or SLX-D systems too?

Wireless Workbench can use the AD600 scan to calculate frequencies for other Shure series as well, but the automatic on-the-fly frequency change only works with Axient Digital ADX transmitters. Ask us if your kit mixes series.

The Shure AD600 is the Axient Digital spectrum manager: a unit that scans the RF band, calculates clean frequencies for a large wireless system and pushes them over the network to AD4D and AD4Q receivers. We rent it for big productions running dozens of wireless microphones and in-ear transmitters at once: television, large conferences, festivals and multi-room events.

The AD600 does not work alone: it is an add-on to Axient Digital receivers and needs a network link to them and a laptop running Wireless Workbench. With an AD610 access point it can move an ADX transmitter to a clean frequency when interference hits. Two receivers manage with their own scan; the AD600 pays off from ten channels up.

What to consider when renting

You need a network switch, network cables to every receiver and a laptop with Wireless Workbench. The unit connects to the antenna distribution so it hears the same spectrum as the receivers. Frequency coordination is an RF technician's job; if you do not have one, book our technician with the equipment. Scan on site once all other transmitters, lighting and LED walls are already running.
