Shure Nexadyne 2

The Shure Nexadyne 2 is a new-generation supercardioid dynamic microphone for kick drum. Shure's dual-transducer Revonic technology gives a cleaner, more consistent polar pattern than conventional dynamic kick mics, so bleed from bass guitar and toms stays out of the channel and less filtering is needed at the desk. It is rented for rock and pop shows, festival backlines and recording where drum channels need to be clean. No phantom power required.

Compared with the Shure BETA 52A, the Nexadyne 2 has a similar character but hears even less from the sides and sounds more natural without processing. The Sennheiser e902 and AKG D112 MKII are the traditional choices, and the AKG D12VR is softer and more old-school. Pair it with Nexadyne 6 on toms and a BETA 91A inside the drum for extra click. The set runs into a Yamaha DM3 console.
