The K&M 260 is a tall straight microphone stand on a round base, without a boom. It suits a standing performer who speaks or sings straight into the mic: a presenter, MC, speaker or soloist. The heavy base keeps it in place even when the performer handles the mic, and the round foot fits a narrow stage.

Choosing between the 260 and the K&M 252 is mainly about height and availability; both are straight stands of the same type. If the mic must reach over a music stand or piano, take the K&M 210/9 with a boom. At larger events the 260 is often ordered in multiples, one per speaker or singer, so nobody shares stands mid-performance.

What to consider when renting

The tube screws into the cast-iron base; assembly is by hand. Set the height to the performer's mouth and tighten the lock firmly so the microphone does not sink during the show. The clip comes with the microphone. Run the cable under the base and tape it down so nobody pulls the stand over by accident. No technician is needed for this.
