Does the B15 work without the A6?

It does, given an amplifier and a processor, but the crossover and settings then have to be done by hand. The simplest route is to take it as part of an A6 package.

No, it is passive and needs a Crown I-Tech amplifier. The active equivalent in our stock is the SRX818SP.

The JBL VTX B15 is a passive 15-inch subwoofer designed as the partner of the VTX A6 line array. We rent it into conference halls, theatres and clubs where an A6 hang needs a low end but a big 18-inch sub would not fit or is not needed. The compact cabinet goes under or at the edge of the stage without blocking the view.

The B15 needs an amplifier, in our stock the Crown I-Tech 4×3500HD or 12000HD, and shares a rack with the A6 elements. If the system is A8 and the audience is in the thousands, choose the B18 or B28. If you want a simple active solution without an amp rack, the SRX818SP is the right pick and matches the PRX and SRX speakers.

What to consider when renting

Plan an amplifier channel per subwoofer or pair, Speakon cables and the preset in the amplifier DSP. The sub is placed on the floor in front of or under the stage. If an A6 stack has to rise on top of it, ask us for the right frame. Assembling and tuning a passive system is the job of our technician, who comes with the kit.
