The AST-250 is a karaoke system that comes with two Shure SLX-D wireless handheld microphones with BETA 58A capsules. It is meant for parties, corporate events and birthdays where karaoke is part of the evening and the microphones have to work reliably even in a crowded room. Shure's digital wireless system gives a clear voice without the hiss that simpler karaoke microphones produce.

The system also needs speakers and a screen, which are not part of the package: for a smaller group, JBL EON710 or PRX812 active speakers work well, for a bigger hall add a subwoofer. If karaoke is one part of a longer programme with a DJ, the microphones can be routed into the DJ mixer or the sound desk. Details of the song selection, languages and screen connection are confirmed when ordering, as they depend on how the set is configured.

What to consider when renting

The system needs mains power, speakers or a mixer to connect the output to, and a screen or TV to show the lyrics. The microphone receiver and the system come as one package; keep spare batteries for the microphones. Song selection and setup take time, so we recommend ordering installation by our technician, who shows the host how to choose songs.
