Karaoke kit
for up to 100 people
The karaoke kit is built for a night where the guests sing, not a hired artist. At its centre is the AST-250 karaoke system with two Shure SLXD24E/B58 wireless microphones, plus two JBL PRX812 active speakers on stands. That is enough for a company party, a birthday, a wedding's second day or a bar night with up to 100 people indoors. The system plays the backing track and shows the lyrics on a screen; two microphones allow a duet or let the next singer stand ready. A TV or projector is not included; venues usually have one.
On the night the system is connected to the screen, the speakers go either side of it and the singers stand in front, facing the audience. A song is picked from the catalogue, the singer takes a microphone and starts. Level and echo are set so even a nervous singer sounds acceptable, half the success of karaoke. The kit does not replace a party DJ or play club music all night; if the party needs a dance part, look at the party kits. Songs and languages depend on the catalogue, so ask us before ordering whether yours are there.

Why these items
- 1.The AST-250 karaoke system is chosen because it is a complete unit: song catalogue, lyrics output to a screen and two Shure SLXD24E/B58 wireless microphones with their receivers in one package, so no separate mixer is needed.
- 2.Two JBL PRX812 active speakers are the right size for karaoke: the 12-inch woofer gives the backing track its body, the high-frequency section keeps the vocal clear, and two cover a room of up to 100 people without a subwoofer.
- 3.Two speaker stands lift the speakers to the singer's head height and let them be aimed at the audience, so the microphones do not feed back from the speakers.
Setup and preparation
The system needs a screen to show the lyrics: a TV, a projector or a large monitor with a video input, usually HDMI. The karaoke unit goes on a table near the screen, the speakers on stands beside the screen or slightly in front of it, aimed at the audience and away from the singer. The microphone receivers stay with the unit in plain view, not in a cupboard. Leave an open area in front of the screen for the singer, with room for a duet.
Prepare one table for the unit, power at the table and at both speakers, and someone who queues the songs during the night. The microphones run on batteries; for a long night bring spares. An experienced person sets the kit up quickly, but on request our technician comes, connects the system to the screen and sets the microphone levels. Setup is available by separate arrangement.

When to choose another kit
If the room holds more than 100 people or you want a proper dance part next to the karaoke, add a subwoofer or start from the Party kit for up to 200 people and order the karaoke system alongside it. For a small space, such as an office break area or a home party, the karaoke system and one smaller speaker are often enough; ask and we will put it together.
