Technics SL-1210MK7
VINYLDJ Turntable with Direct Drive
Prices are per 24 hours of rental. Longer rentals, delivery and setup are quoted on request.
The Technics SL-1210MK7 is a direct-drive DJ turntable that continues the 1200 series used in clubs for decades. A solid platter, quick start-up and a pitch control make it the standard equipment of the vinyl DJ. It is usually rented in pairs for club nights, vinyl parties and events where the performer plays records or combines vinyl with CDJs.
The turntable comes without a cartridge, so order an Ortofon Concorde Club MKII for each deck or ask the DJ to bring their own. Vinyl needs a phono input and ground terminal on the mixer; the Pioneer DJM-A9 fits. As a table the Gravity FT 01 holds two turntables and the mixer. If no records are played at the event, the CDJ-3000 is the simpler choice, since it is immune to vibration and needs no cartridges.
What to consider when renting
Each turntable needs mains power, an RCA phono cable and a ground wire to the mixer's phono input, otherwise it hums. Place the decks on a solid table away from the speakers and subwoofers; vibration makes the stylus skip. Set the counterweight and anti-skating for the cartridge and check that the platter is level. We recommend leaving the setup to a technician or an experienced vinyl DJ.
