The RØDE Lavalier II is a flat, small omnidirectional lavalier with a locking 3.5 mm plug made for the RØDE Wireless GO II transmitter. With it the transmitter can hide under clothing and only a discreet capsule at the collar shows on camera. We rent it together with the Wireless GO II kit for video interviews, live streams and corporate videos where a large clip on the chest does not suit the picture.

The mic is an add-on only: without a Wireless GO II transmitter or a recorder with a 3.5 mm input (such as the TASCAM FR-AV2) it does nothing. It is not compatible with Shure TA4F bodypacks. If you need a lavalier for a stage or a conference hall PA, look at the Shure MX150B or DPA 4061 with a Shure bodypack instead.

What to consider when renting

Plug the mic into the transmitter's 3.5 mm socket and tighten the locking ring, otherwise the plug works loose with movement. Clip the capsule at sternum height and route the cable under clothing to the transmitter, leaving a small loop. Use the supplied windscreen outdoors. Transmitter battery and the receiver-to-camera link need the same attention as without a lavalier; a test recording before the interview prevents most surprises.
